Blu-ray Review: Alice
Welcome to Wonderland!
So what happens with a fairy tale after it’s happily ever after? Obviously, life goes on and things won’t remain the same as when we left them. Well, SyFy has taken the liberty to give a possible scenario for the sequel of Alice in Wonderland with their mini-series Alice.
Blu-ray Review: Stargate Universe- 1.0
Every so often when a franchise has been around for a long time you start to see it stagger. From rehashing old ideas and plots, retconning several facts or events to becoming too weighted down by the past canonized events of itself, all in the name of trying to keep the series going and pushing forwards. We have seen this happen to many sci-fi series through the years such as Star Trek, Star Wars, Red Dwarf and most recently the Stargate series, which has just recently passed its 15th anniversary.
Blu-ray Review: Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day
Trailer Park Boys, the hit sitcom from Canada, has run been running for seven seasons and takes a documentary approach to life in a trailer park. Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day catches the series up to speed with a healthy mix of toilet humor and awkward situations. Longstanding fans of the series will find a lot to like here while newbies will quickly fall in love with its unique premise and oddball characters.
Blu-ray Review: Women in Trouble
For 2009's Women in Trouble, director Sebastian Gutierrez took several actresses we're used to seeing in bland supporting roles – the type where you know you recognize her but cannot remember from where – and pushed them into starring roles in a Ritchie-esque ensemble cast. The result is an unexpectedly entertaining work complete with mile high clubs, coked out musicians, attempted kidnappings, ass-less spandex pants, hilarious confessions and some genuine, if not slightly campy, heart in between all that lingerie.

Anime Blu-ray Review: Claymore, The Complete Series
The Girls are back – no, I don't mean Charlies Angels, although some of us older guys might like that. I am speaking of those deadly women/demons with those awesome swords, the Claymores, but this time they are coming at you in the High Definition of Blu-ray.

Anime Blu-ray Review: Heroic Age, The Complete Series
The Ancients, I mean the Asgards, no wait – it was the Golden Tribe. You know who I mean – the ones that knew everything and bestowed much of their knowledge upon the Silver Tribe, that funny race of beings much like the Vulcans who have no emotions, but do seek power and utter domination over the Universe? But because the Golden Tribe didn't want everything to go to the Silver Tribe, they gave the most powerful gift to that pesky Iron Tribe, the humans. Why would the Golden Tribe bestow this one great power on such a petty race of weak-minded beings?
Blu-ray Review: Planet Hulk
Marvel Studios and Lionsgate Home Entertainment bring us the latest in comic to movie adaptions with Planet Hulk. The story is great and creates plenty of situations for the green guy to beat the crap out of a lot of things. Fans of the original comic series or of Marvel in general will find a lot to like here with this Blu-ray release.
Blu-ray Review: Surrogates
Based on the comic series of the same name, Surrogates delivers a thriller wrapped in an action movie packaging that will keep you locked in your seat for its short, yet sweet duration. The Blu-ray release feels like a similar treat, offering a very small amount of awesome special features packed in with great video and sound quality. Fans of the original comic series as well as fans of sci-fi films in general should pick this one up.
Blu-ray Review: Battlestar Galactica- Season One
The Cylons are coming! The Cylons are coming! They're here.
Battlestar Galactica: Season One has made its way to Blu-ray, and it is
truly glorious. This is a show that was meant to be watched in high
definition. It is amazing how different the episodes look compared to DVD. I need to start out by mentioning that I do indeed own all of BSG on DVD. It was a series that I felt needed to have in my collection and I wanted to relive it before the final season aired. Now that this Blu-ray set is in my hands, I have the desire to own it all on Blu-ray.
