Comic-Con 2009: A Few More Costumes

I know, I know, we had an entire team dedicated to taking costume pictures this year.  Even knowing this, I still couldn't resist snapping a few myself.  The costumes were everywhere, from the Washington Street trolley station Thursday morning to the post-con parties Sunday night.

And of course, the requisite Con staple; Star Wars costumes!

Comic-Con 2009: Artbox Grab Bags!

It looks like the Artbox booth is the place to be! From ordinary trading cards, to authentic autograph cards, they have it all. Most of their merchandise has to do with Harry Potter and Star Wars this year and they have an extra special treat for 2009 Comic-Con attendees. Artbox has put together special “grab bags” for all of the die-hard Harry Potter fans out there. But here’s the catch – they only put out 100 bags a day. Out of those 100 bags, there are 6 randomly inserted winning tickets. If you should get a bag with one of these tickets, you win one of their Comic-Con exclusive cards limited to only 35 produced!

Comic-Con 2009: Sunset Comic from Prime Dimension Studios

Yesterday I stopped by the Prime Dimension Studio’s booth in the Small Press area of the Comic-Con.  PDS is showcasing their first comic Sunset this year, and I had the chance to speak with artist Robert P. Seavello who filled me in on the storyline.  The comic is set in the city of Sunset, where a physics experiment gone awry has caused interdimensional portals to begin popping open all over the city.  Of course the occupants of these other dimensions tend wander through the portals, and inevitably some of them are less than friendly.

CC09: LOST EXCLUSIVE FROM COMIC CON!

Every year at Comic-Con San Diego, the cast and crew of LOST like to put together something special for the fans as a thank you for all the support over the years. Over the last few years, these videos have usually contained a message from Dr. Marvin Candle, a member of the Dharma Initiative, who is there to provide some insight into the series. This year for Comic-Con, they decided to do something a little…different.

If you haven't noticed by now, LOST is missing something that most shows have: a catchy theme song! So for Comic-Con 2009, the producers put out a call to the fans to create an original theme for the show that will be accompanied by a specially created opening sequence to be played at the convention infront of the 6,000 attendees of Hall H.

The Guild Panel – Comic Con ’09

It is amazing to see how far The Guild has come in the past few years … in fact, just compared to last year they have really surpassed expectations in popularity. The panel proved this by having fans lined up around the hall as soon as the doors opened, and a completely full house for the panel itself. The Guild is a web series starring Felicia Day ("Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog") about a guild in World of Warcraft that are thrown together IRL. The second season wrapped up with some new revelations and the members fighting amongst themselves. Season three is just on the horizon so it was time to get fans psyched in the San Diego Comic Con!

While ol' Shellhead's second feature film won't be out for a while, moviegoers can get a glimpse of the golden avenger here today with one photo of Tony in front of several armor iterations and a bizarre whiplash that is something of a departure from the one we've come to know in the comics.

Iron Man 2 premieres May 7, 2010. See you there!
