Movie Review: Big Hero 6
by Chelsea Dee, Editor-at-Large I was surprised when I heard that this series was going to become the next Disney adventure, but I was excited too. I don’t know the comics series that well (gasp, a comic I don’t know…
Movie Review: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
by Chelsea Dee, Editor-at-Large First things first: separating a single book into multiple parts is annoying. In general. While I love The Hobbit, it’s pretty clear that it could’ve at least been cut into two, it didn’t need to be…
Movie Review: Gone Girl
by Chelsea Dee, Editor-at-Large When people assume that books cannot properly adapt to the screen, or that the movie can never be as good as the book, I generally agree. I feel like Gone Girl is a great example of…
Editorial: A Look Back At Friends 20 Years Later
by Chelsea Dee Doyle, Editor-at-Large I remember watching Friends for the first time. I was too young when it first started, only ten years old, and I have vague memories of hearing about Ross and Rachel and “how you doin’” jokes from pop…
TV Review: Sleepy Hollow 1×01 “Pilot”
Chelsea Doyle watches the Sleepy Hollow pilot and surprisingly likes it! There will be spoilers in this recap about the pilot, so beware. Ichabod Crane defeats the demonic horseman in the past, but he wakes up in the modern day thanks to a magic spell. Or something like that. He meets police detective Abbie Mills and they band together to stop the reborn Headless Horseman. One of the cops in this asks the question I’ve always wondered: can he hear what people say? He doesn’t have ears!

DVD Review: Trek Nation
Chelsea Doyle goes where many men and women have gone before to watch the birth of Star Trek in the documentary Trek Nation. From the 60s to right this instant, the popular science fiction series has proven the power of fandom and imagination. Join Eugene Roddenberry, son of Gene Roddenberry, as he steps into his father’s intense past and tries to find the man only other people knew.
TV Review: Suits Season Two
Chelsea breaks down the second season of hit USA show Suits. It’s about a lawyer and a con man who work together in one of the biggest and fiercest New York City law firms. The cast is excellent, the characters are well developed, and this season never slowed down. The next season begins July 16th.
TV Review: Teen Wolf 3×2 “Chaos Rising”
The summer continues with the guilty pleasure MTV Show Teen Wolf. Derek and Scott find out what the alpha pack has been doing with Erica and Boyd, Isaac is frozen nearly to death, and Lydia screams at … nothing. Also the show reminds people that sex = death or bad things in the horror genre.
TV Review: Teen Wolf 3×1 “Tattoo”
Join Chelsea as she watches the guilty pleasure MTV show Teen Wolf, now in its third season. While it doesn’t have great special effects, it embraces the cheesiness of the genre and comes out entertaining. There’s a pack of alphas in town looking to take out the betas. What does this mean for Scott and his friends?
TV Review: Game of Thrones 3×10 “Mhysa”
Chelsea and Jachelle discuss the last episode of season three of Game of Thrones. Was it a satisfying conclusion? Can we really survive another year of waiting? This season went by so fast, and the only thing we can look forward to is waiting for the DVD set to come out. Or, you know, actually read the books.
TV Review: Game of Thrones 3×9 “The Rains of Castamere”
Chelsea and Jachelle see the notorious episode of Game of Thrones featuring the Red Wedding. It is a topic that book fans have been waiting for since 2000, and TV fans were not prepared at all. Look on the internet for the various funny reaction posts to this episode. It’s worth it. But for now join the heartbroken writing duo as they accept nothing will be happy again.
TV Review: Grimm Season Two
Chelsea delves into the NBC show Grimm after it finished its second season. Nick Burkhardt is both a cop and a supernatural hunter known as a “Grimm.” Unlike his ancestors, he’s decided to make friends with some of the Wesen he’s supposed to be hunting. In the second season of the show, Nick has to juggle his concern over his ill girlfriend, his rising rivalry with his boss, and saving the city from rampaging Wesen. It’s all in a day’s work for a world weary Grimm.
TV Review: Game of Thrones “Second Sons”
Chelsea and Jachelle talk in detail about their favorite and least favorite parts of Game of Thrones episode “Second Sons.” It’s time for a royal wedding, only this one is between Sansa and Tyrion. Neither of them want to be there, but somehow it becomes a hilariously uncomfortable scene. There’s blood leeches (ew), inappropriate bath scenes, and Sam the Slayer. Countdown to the end: two more episodes.
Movie Review: Another View of Star Trek Into Darkness
Chelsea Doyle gives a second opinion about Star Trek Into Darkness, utilizing her Trekkie fangirling and love for the history of the industry. There will be major spoilers in this review for the past movies and the current one, so approach with caution. Was this a great follow-up to the successful 2009 movie?
