Author Seth Holms has been struggling with writer’s block. After releasing He Came in With a Smile ten years ago, he has struggled to craft another engaging story. Even more troubling is the fact that all of the ideas that he comes up with lead to a gruesome ending. Everyone wants more stories from him, but all he wants to do is create something new and outside of the genre that has defined his career. More importantly, what happens when his ideas start to have symmetry with the real world?

I will admit, this book would normally have been outside of my wheelhouse. The horror/thriller genre isn’t my typical go-to, but there are always exceptions to the rule. In the case of You’ll Do Bad Things, the miniseries offers a lot in the opening chapter that caught my attention, and that hook continued to pay off in the second issue (which Image kindly shared as well). I think it is always wise to try and step outside of your comfort zone every once in a while, and I can say that I’m glad I did so with this book. Now I need to know how this all plays out…

Rating: ★★★★☆

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
