Ultimate Spider-Man issue 14 opens with Richard Parker, who we predict will end up being Ultimate Kid Venom having a rooftop chat with Felicia, the teenage Black Cat. Felicia explains her current situation vis-a-vis her father and the group we know as the Sinister Six. Richard reveals his first name and his face, but he doesn’t reveal more than that, per the suit’s advice.
Like last month, the bulk of Ultimate Spider-Man #14 deals with Kraven hunting Peter and Harry in the subterranean Savage Land.
As I’ve said: Hickman is one of the best comic writers today, possibly of all time. He should also start writing Amazing Spider-Man. The suspense in Ultimate Spider-Man #14 continues to be amazing, and the art is spectacular. Chicchetto hunts down all the best angles, close-ups, wide shots, and pacing, whether it’s talking heads or fighting for life. Ultimate Spider-Man continues to be among my favorite comics each month.
Where are we going from here? Where will the Parkers and the Osborns go from here? What event was the Mole Man talking about? How does this creative team keep raising the stakes each issue and keep us coming back?
