In which Spike can relate. Me, too, Spike!

Superspeed and Anxiety

The first two traits I gave to my critter was to make Fred Cool cool (mostly through his sunglasses, confident grin, and ever-present boom box) and George Critter anxious. George (aka Intense Beetle) gets superspeed as an outlet for his anxiety, when he is not trapped in his Anxiety Box.

The Original Comic Draft

Today’s comic’s first draft was this one panel comic on ComicsOnline, Instagram, and Twitter/X on January 7, 2023. I changed out Dr. Diablo for the boys and Mandy.

Critter Coloring by Braelynn!

Thank you, Braelynn! New Critter Coloring Page coming next week!

Critter merchandise is for sale on Redbubble. Look for the JoeIconic store. All proceeds go to buying more stickers, temporary tattoos, and make coloring pages for the children who come through our local crisis charity! Critter fans send Critter Sightings from Amsterdam to Charleston to London to Alaska. I post Critter Sightings on social media on the weekends.

This “Director’s Cut” of the cartoons is exclusively on ComicsOnline.com! Come back to ComicsOnline for Critters, Comic Book Reviews, and Everything Geek Pop Culture!

Joe is a husband, #girldad, and Orphan of Apollo. He has drawn critters since riding the bus in 5th grade, and they have appeared on notes to loved ones, graffiti in a Latin classroom (sorry Rev. Dr Clark!), training slides for work, a newsletter in Alaska, and notes to his wife Tracy, who encouraged him to share them with the world. Contains pop culture references, stuff from the news, but mostly bad dad jokes.
