Official Synopsis:
SUPERSTARS JASON AARON AND RAFA SANDOVAL UNLEASH A SHOCKING NEW TAKE ON THE LAST SON OF KRYPTON! Without the fortress… without the family… without a home… what’s left is the Absolute Man of Steel!

Creative Team:
Writer: Jason Aaron
Artist: Rafa Sandoval
Colorist: Ulises Arreola
Becca Carey: Letterer

“Bold” seems to be the best word for the Absolute line as a whole, as each new release maintains that narrative through-line with a daring look at what makes these characters so special. This first issue introduces us to a different look at the world of Krypton, including some interesting elitist elements that will surely have world-ending ramifications for its inhabitants. Meanwhile in present day, we are introduced to an older Kal-El who is trying to find a place in this exotic new world. As he attempts to help those in need, he will encounter a familiar face who might just change his life forever.

The creative team lays out an innovative new take on the world of Superman in this launch issue, and just like the other Absolute books, there is no doubt that I am adding this to my pull list. I’ve always loved the concept of DC’s Elseworlds titles, and I love that we are getting to see these alternate reality stories play out in a long-form narrative. Absolute Superman is an absolute must-read title from DC.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
