Having successfully escaped from captivity, Hal rejoined his friends with some powerful items in tow. The heroes might just stand a chance with this new weaponry, but Hal and Wally will still need to risk their lives and uncover some key data needed to win the war. This “dynamic duo” makes a small detour to one(?) of Batman’s hidden islands (yes this gets addressed in detail), where Hal introduces Wally to an experimental jet called the BatWolf! Now that both of the boys have rides of their own, they head off to retrieve the data in style. Meanwhile, Star Sapphire makes a new friend as she encounters Dove, who is trying to continue saving lives despite the current power struggles. The two encounter Nate, now called “Sorrow”, who unleashes a wave of emotion against the heroines. Carol is able to hold him off, but the entire encounter adds even more to the mystery… Hal and Wally have some interesting events on their end as well, leading Hal into a direct encounter with the Amazo bot known as “Jadestone”. We’re going to leave you in suspense until you read the issue, but I loved the resolution of this chapter and the new layers that it adds to the ongoing Green Lantern saga.

I feel like it’s pretty safe to say that fans have mixed feelings when it comes to tie-in books. Timing of these stories is usually a challenge and ends up disrupting the events of the book, making the installments feel unnecessary or even out of character. In the case of Green Lantern, this creative team has found a way to leverage the tie-ins and craft stories that complement their bigger arcs while still feeling connected to the larger DC Universe. It’s a fine line, and we already saw this team knock it out of the park with Knight Terrors after just two issues into the start of their run. There’s a lot of fun to be found in this installment and Green Lantern fans will surely be excited after that final page setup.

Additionally, this release also features a back up story from Phillip Kennedy Johnson, acting as an epilogue to his 12-issue Green Lantern: War Journal series. Make sure you check this out to get a glimpse at what’s coming next for the world of Green Lantern!

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
