Arthur Adams is an award-winning artist who became an immediate fan favorite as the penciler on the critically-acclaimed 1985 Longshot mini-series. His decades-spanning career has included cover and interior work on such titles as Batman, Superman, The Hulk, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men, New Mutants, Godzilla, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Excalibur, Ultimate X, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Walking Dead. He’s the creator, writer and artist on Monkeyman and O’Brien.
Outside of comics, Arthur has done movie, toy, and game designs, book illustrations, and provided the artwork for an X-Men-themed Spaghetti-O’s can.
Kaare Andrews is a comic writer and artist known for his work at Marvel Comics and his distinctive art and storytelling on characters like Spider-Man, Hulk, and Iron Fist. Kaare is also the creator of the acclaimed series Renato Jones: The One Percent for Image Comics.
In addition to his comic work, he’s an accomplished filmmaker, bringing his unique style to both the page and screen. His latest book is Spider-Man: REIGN 2.
100 Bullets by Dave Johnson
An officially ordained Methodist Deacon, “Reverend” Dave Johnson may be best known for his minimalist covers on the noir Vertigo series, 100 Bullets. He has done all 100 covers.
He has also done a number of covers for DC Comics, primarily Batman and Detective Comics. Dave also worked with Erik Larsen on the mini-series Superpatriot: Liberty & Justice.
He is also known for his work with Marvel on Deadpool. Dave is the principal founder of “Drink and Draw”, a get-together of professional artists that spawned an art book by the same name.
Mr. Johnson earned the 2002 Eisner Award for Best Cover Artist. He was also nominated for an Eisner in 2004 for his work on the critically-acclaimed DC Elseworlds miniseries Superman: Red Son, which is now a perennial bestseller in graphic novel form.
J.G. Jones is a cover artist, painter, penciller, inker, and writer. He has been nominated for 3 Eisner Awards, as well being credited for his work as co-producer for Universal Pictures film version of the graphic novel Wanted along with Mark Millar. He has contributed both covers and interior art for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Wildstorm, Dark Horse, Dynamite, BOOM! Studios, Top Cow, Valiant, Defiant, Broadway, and Crusade Comics.
J.G. and writer Devin Grayson introduced the Yelena Belova character in Marvel Knights Black Widow limited series, followed by creating and drawing Marvel Boy with Grant Morrison, before working on Greg Rucka’s Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia.
J.G. has always been a prolific cover artist, painting covers for Brian K. Vaughan’s Y: The Last Man, as well as Wonder Woman. His cover work included many titles, but he may be best remembered for providing all 52 covers for DC Comics’ groundbreaking weekly title, 52.
He then co-created Top Cow Comics’ breakout sensation Wanted with writer Mark Millar before heading to DC to work with Grant Morrison on the epic Final Crisis, and on Brian Azzarello’s Before Watchmen:The Comedian.
Jones teamed up with Mark Waid to write Strange Fruit for BOOM! Studios, for which he provided the lushly painted art.
And did I mention covers? Lots and lots of covers.
Joshua Middleton began his career as a comic book artist in 1999, providing illustrations for every major publisher and eventually branching out into animation and film design.
In 2005, he began his long-running relationship with DC Comics, illustrating Superman/Shazam: First Thunder before rising to prominence as a premier cover artist on a wide variety of DC titles, including his recent notable runs on Aquaman and Batgirl. His exceptional skill and uncommon range as an artist have earned him his place amongst the very best cover artists in the industry.
Whether it’s creating new characters or reinventing older ones, Amy Reeder is here to remind us that great characters are what keep us hooked on comics. Her cover work spans many of the DC and Marvel characters we all love, but she’s especially known for her interior work on titles like Madame Xanadu, Batwoman, Amethyst, and Wonder Woman.
Amy co-created Rocket Girl through Image Comics, as well as Moon Girl from Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur–who now stars in her own cartoon on Disney! These days, Amy tends to write what she draws, which includes her recent work on DC’s Amethyst. Currently, she’s working on an unannounced romance graphic novel, while balancing cover gigs for the Big Two.
“What an absolute murderer’s row of talent,” said Marc Nathan, show promoter for the Baltimore Comic-Con. “These are some of the most talented creators working in the comics industry, whose art and creativity really touches everyone who get to experience it. We could not be happier to have them join us for the 25th anniversary event, and attendees won’t want to miss the opportunity to meet them this year!”
