For two seasons, Skybound Entertainment and Prime Video have demonstrated their desire to put Invincible on the map with stellar animation and comic-accurate stories. While we anxiously await the return of Mark Grayson’s adventures in Season 3, we can now go back and explore his first epic adventures in finer detail with the release of The Art of Invincible Season 1

I don’t know about you, but I was hooked since the early days of the Invincible’s comic debut. Kirkman and Walker set the stage for a unique take on the superhero genre, constantly defying expectations and subverting tropes to create a bold new world. Thankfully, the animated series has maintained those elements and faithfully adapted the story as it moved to the new medium. Nothing about Invincible feels rushed, and this book clearly showcases the talented team that worked to meticulously recreate Mark’s story and ensure a new entry point for fans new and old.

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for “making of” or “art of” production-style books, as they tend to bring to light various concept designs or alternatives. Page after page, readers will be stunned by the gorgeous designs and stories featured in this impressive release. The Art of Invincible Season 1 features behind-the-scenes stories, character designs, landscapes, props, and production art that will surely excite anyone who has watched the series. Written by Marc Sumerak with commentary from Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and other members of the creative team, fans will find there is a lot of love that went into bringing Mark’s journey to animation.

Additionally, Skybound confirmed that The Art of Invincible Season 2 will be hitting stores in February 2025.

The Art of Invincible Season 1 successfully captures the magic of the hit series, making this book a must have for fans. You can easily get lost in this book for hours as you dive into Mark Grayson’s story through an exciting new lens.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
