TIME TO FACE THE MUSIC! The Mary Janes are off on a four-city tour as the opening act to one of Earth-65’s biggest rock bands! Gwen has promised the band that this big break will be all about the music. No web-slinging, just drums. But when a mysterious assassin targets the headliner, Gwen begins to wonder how she got this gig in the first place. Featuring new versions of some of your favorite characters!

Ready to rock a brand-new Spider-Gwen series? In Spider Gwen: Smash #1 we’re re-introduced to the Mary Janes after the band had a freakout at a venue called The Freakout.  Gwen Stacy, our friendly neighborhood drummer (and Ghost-Spider)starts this #1 off spinning trouble for her band, The Mary Janes. By the end of the night, Ghost-Spider was tangled in the webs of ‘cancel culture’. She swung into action as Barbie Lady Deathstrike, called Pink Velvet, started streaming her attack. Ghost-Spider struggles with her spider senses telling her she’s nowhere home. Even after the sticky mess she left the band in, they still needed our heroine for a new tour opportunity. The Mary Janes’ are dazzled by the Uncut Gems, the tour’s main attraction. My mouth dropped as I realized music wasn’t the band’s only talent! The Uncut Gems’ lead singer doesn’t just enjoy the limelight; she produces it as Dazzler! You also realize Gwen isn’t the only arachnid on this tour. With an ominous green clack and foreshadowing lyrics, just when you thought this gem was a smash hit, a HULK SMASHED. As Ghost-Spider and Dazzler realize how well they smashed that performance and the Hulk together.  Their new enemy, snake eyed fuzzy Hulk is anxiously awaiting their next show.
