by Matt Sernaker, Managing Editor

The Darkest Hour event continues for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! Dark Specter’s influence has spread across the Morphin Grid, infecting Rangers one-by-one. Can our heroes hope to stop this evil before all of their friends become lost forever? Check out the exciting next chapter this week with the release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #113 from BOOM! Studios.

Creative Team:

Dark Specter has returned thanks to the villainous efforts of Mistress Vile and her minions. The evil overlord continues to set his sights on new Ranger teams, taking him across the Morphin Grid to the world of Power Rangers Dino Charge. With more and more Rangers falling to the infection, what can our heroes do when all seems lost? The Drakkon Rangers AND the Hyperforce Rangers join the battle in a big way in this issue, but can these teams find a way to work together after all that Drakkon has done? Bill and Drakkon’s reunion was quite an exciting moment, and the events unfolded in a surprising way.

Flores and team continue to play in the larger sandbox of the Power Rangers Universe, bringing together characters in a fun and interesting way that only enhances the dynamics of the series. I loved the inclusion of several Power Rangers teams in this story, and I’m glad that readers will get to experience having more of their favorite characters play a pivotal role with the anniversary event. From an artistic perspective, Di Gianfelice and Angulo expertly capture the likeness of the newly included heroes, adding a sense of history and continuity to the story. The shocking cliffhanger promises to up that excitement once again, as a major interaction finally becomes a reality.

The Darkest Hour is a masterful way of touching every corner of the Power Rangers franchise for the 30th anniversary event.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
