Comic Book Review: Star Trek: Day of Blood – Shaxs’ Best Day

The massive Star Trek: Day of Blood event might be coming to an end this week, but we still have one more major issue before the finale. Get ready, because Lieutenant Junior Grade Shaxs is about to have the time of his life in Star Trek: Day of Blood – Shaxs’ Best Day from IDW Publishing!

Official Synopsis:
You’ve seen Captains Benjamin Sisko and Worf with their crews of the U.S.S. Theseus and Defiant stop the fascist, god-killing clone Kahless II from declaring war on non-followers across the galaxy in a brutal battle on Qo’noS. But you haven’t seen it from the eyes of the man, the myth, the legend, Lieutenant Junior Grade Shaxs!

Creative Team:
Writer: Ryan North
Artist: Derek Charm
Letterer: Clayton Cowles

Fan-favorite Shaxs takes center stage for this side-quest style adventure set during Part Four of Star Trek: Day of Blood. Without going into spoilers, Shaxs has an EPIC adventure that will make you cheer as you work your way through each and every page. The creative team expertly channeled their enthusiasm for this character as he works his way through a battle that will not be forgotten. Oh, and did I mention that this stand-alone story features art in the style of Star Trek: Lower Decks?

There are many great books coming out this week, but Shaxs’ Best Day is my personal highlight. I would highly recommend that you add this, and the finale of Star Trek: Day of Blood in Star Trek #12, to your pull list. You won’t regret it.

Dear IDW – Give these guys a spin-off book.

Rating: ★★★★★
ComicsOnline gives Star Trek: Day of Blood – Shaxs’ Best Day – 5 out of 5 insane (but entirely appropriate) Star Trek stories.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
