Kamala has to deal with the aftermath of blowing her cover and revealing herself as a mutant. Anti-mutant protesters have gathered at Empire State University, Orchis is still hunting her and she is still being plagued by nightmares every time she sleeps. Ms. Marvel is not on her A-game and that is going to cost her, especially as Orchis is closing in. Can Bruno save the day and help Kamala figure out what message her subconscious is trying to send her in her nightmares before it’s too late?
Vellani & Pirzada have peeled back yet another layer of our intertwined Fall of X story arc. It is clear that Ms. Marvel will play a pivotal role, but will she be the savior or downfall of her mutant friends? Her struggle is real. Kamala has barely come to terms with her death, the revelation that she is a mutant as well as an inhuman, then she has to watch her fellow mutants be banished and then get tossed into her first mission as an X-Men wildly unprepared. No wonder she is having nightmares! I am fervently drawn to the complexity of emotions Vellani & Pirzada bring to this character, which is brilliantly brought to life by the artwork of Gòmez & Gorham. We have 3 issues left in this series to figure out what is in store for the newest mutant.
