The adventures of Captain Worf and his misfit crew continues with the release of Star Trek: Defiant #3 from IDW Publishing! After raiding a Section 31 top secret facility, the crew of the Defiant find themselves face to face with Orion pirates. To no surprise, the pirates have double-crossed our heroes, capturing Worf, B’Elanna, and Ro in the process. With only Spock and the disembodied head of Lore remaining on the ship, the crew will need to get creative to escape from their captors and continue their quest to stop Kahless.

Official Synopsis:
Amid a ruse gone wrong, Worf and his away team of B’Elanna Torres and Ro Laren find themselves imprisoned by Orion pirates wary of the supposed Maquis separatists. Meanwhile, in the captain’s chair of the Defiant, Spock struggles to defend the ship with Lore’s musings of chaos in his ear.

Creative Team:
Writer: Christopher Cantwell
Artist: Angel Unzueta
Colorist: Marissa Louise
Lettering: Clayton Cowles

With his comrades captured, Spock takes command of the Defiant and attempts to outrun his pursuers. Through some expertly crafted visuals, the readers get to experience Spock’s abilities and ingenuity in a truly unique manner. Despite his best efforts, our favorite Vulcan is forced to (reluctantly) accept help from Lore…leading to some extremely entertaining exchanges between the duo. Meanwhile, Worf and his away team attempt to escape their captors, and find that they have a surprising ally on the ship. What role will the mystery character play in stopping the Red Path?

The creative teams at IDW continue their hot streak of engaging Star Trek books, as both the main Star Trek flagship title and Star Trek: Defiant consistently provide readers with stellar new stories. Although the character line-ups for each book seemed a bit odd at first glance, the character dynamics and interpersonal relationships are well written and seamlessly capture the voices of our favorite heroes. The Countdown to “Day of Blood” continues, and these are stories that you don’t want to miss.

(Managing Editor/Director of Media Relations) Matt interviewed MacGyver once (true story), and was invited on a submarine to the Arctic. It hasn't happened yet, but Matt hopes that some day he will get the call and he and Richard Dean Anderson will go off and have a wacky adventure.
