Official Description:
Andrew, a retired conflict photographer, lives a life steeped in regret, pain, and sorrow. When the seasons arrive–each one embodied as powerful god-like creatures–everything for Andrew begins to change. As he risks everything to track down Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, he can’t help but hope that capturing the perfect picture of each will help him find his redemption…and maybe–just maybe–bring color back to his world.
Boom Studios presents: The Seasons Have Teeth #1 “Spring”
It’s the most horrifying time of the year again! Spring has sprung and whether you’re using Zyrtec, Allegra, Claritin, or something else entirely, you know the dread of the season that brings the pollen, and with it, the pain. It starts as just a little tickle. Maybe in your nose or eyes, and eventually a far less benign version of The Green Man has left the realm of the Fae to become your own personal torturer.
The Seasons Have Teeth #1 isn’t so singular-dimensional as only that, however. Like a season’s patiently slow onset of allergies, it takes it’s time dragging you from comfort to terror in more ways than you ever thought possible. Sure, there’s the fear in the face of what might otherwise be seen as lovely renewed green and beauty, but there’s also the horrors of age, and loss, and the foolishness of youth.
The Seasons Have Teeth #1 is written by Dan Watters (Lucifer, Home Sick Pilots) with art by Sebastián Cabrol (Maestro: World War M) with colors by Dan Jackson (Stranger Things: The Bully) and lettering by Nate Piekos of Blambot®. Covers are by Qistina Khalidah, Sebastián Fuimara, Duncan Fegredo, and David Mack.
Really, this issue was a perfect sonnet of horror by itself, but no, there are more issues to come. I’m already simultaneously afraid and thrilled. And that’s why…
