After Party at Whiskey Girl following San Diego Comic-Con 2014
SAN DIEGO – Comic-Concert: The Comic-Con 2014 After Party, a fan created event that focuses on the musical aspect of pop culture, returns for its Sixth Annual installment, once again being held at the Whiskey Girl (located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and G Street in Downtown San Diego) on Sunday, July 27th at 7pm. Over the past few years, the “Geek Rock” genre has grown significantly in size, and this special event allows Comic-Con and local San Diegans the opportunity to experience a different side of the Popular Arts. Sponsored in part by ComicsOnline.com, Midwest Media Expo, and Whiskey Girl, the evening will feature special performances by San Diego’s Musical Comedy Band: Random Gibberish, and the internet Geek Rapper known as Mega Ran!
To help celebrate the Sixth Anniversary of the Comic-Concert music series, Jon St. John (best known as the voice of video game hero Duke Nukem) will be joining the gang as the celebrity host for the event!
$5 Donation requested at the door. You do not need to have a Comic-Con pass to attend this performance. Must be 21+ to enter.
Random Gibberish is back and ready to share their brand of music comedy and geek rock with the attendees of San Diego Comic-Con! Continuing on their 10th Anniversary tour, the band consists of the vocal talents of Erin Hatch, the piano stylings of Matt Sernaker, and the something something of Kroze. With songs inspired by comic books, movies, and television, they are sure to have something for everyone. They will also be selling their newly released 10th Anniversary albums, Octopuses Stand In Our Way! and More Juice at the event. Their albums are also now available on iTunes and Bandcamp.
