Movie Review: Elysium
In the future, things aren’t going well for the people of Earth. Over population is rampant, while healthcare and quality of life are at an all time low. With things taking a turn for the worse, mankind’s elite have decided to abandon life on Earth, and now live in a giant space station called Elysium. This floating paradise in the sky can only be accessed by “citizens” (aka the wealthy), while the working class remains down below on the dying planet. Only one man can make a difference and restore balance to this dystopian future, and that one man is…Matt Damon? Matt Damon (The Bourne Trilogy) stars in the new futuristic tale Elysium, from Director Neill Blomkamp (District 9).

Movie Review: Blue Jasmine
There are so many thoughts rushing through Jasmine’s head that she can’t help but spout them out. She needs to voice her story, needs to say it even if nobody wants to hear it, or even if there is nobody around to hear it at all. Blue Jasmine, the latest film by prolific filmmaker Woody Allen, tracks the scrambled thoughts of a thoroughly broken woman who tries to pull her life back together. Woody Allen theoretically still has a reputation for being a comedian, and this movie could theoretically be called a comedy, but despite how funny this movie is, it’s actually a full-on modern tragedy.

Fans of DC and Warner Brothers’ animated series have seen the Justice League work together to fight impossible odds time after time, always moving past their personal differences in order to save the day. Now, in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, it’s time to see them in a slightly different light: emotionally scarred and desperately trying to kill each other.
