That’s right, Bear McCreary (composer for Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, and Europa Report) is set to add Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to his resume. Fans can look forward to possibly, MAYBE, hearing something at this week’s San Diego Comic Con during the panel on Friday. He was kind enough to offer us a quote on the subject:
“Ever since I was a kid, I dreamt of writing music for superheroes. The brassy fanfares and gothic textures of the superhero music of my youth had a lasting impact on my imagination. Now, I suddenly find myself with the opportunity to contribute original music to the ever-expanding Marvel universe! And I have a full symphonic orchestra at my disposal every week. Add to that the fact that I get to collaborate with Joss Whedon and his remarkable creative team? Ok… now I’m getting worried that this IS all a dream, that I might suddenly wake up and realize I’m back in third grade, having dozed off while reading one of my X-Men comics. If this really is a dream… I’m going to enjoy the ride until I wake up.”
To add to the overwhelming excitement and response to the news that fans at Comic-Con 2013 will get an exclusive chance to view the first episode of Black Sails. Starz has now added a special performance with series musical Composer Bear McCreary to kick off the screening Thursday night in San Diego.
