Kevin Smith (Clerks, Red State) started SModcast with producer Scott Mosier in 2007 and it inadvertently changed his life. In August of 2010, Jason Mewes (Clerks, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Todd and The Book of Pure Evil) was in need of a permanent life change and joined long time movie hetero life mate Kevin Smith’s latest media passion, this time the aim was to offer Jay an ongoing live forum to talk about his troubles with addiction and hold him accountable for his ongoing sobriety. This has worked marvelously, not only for Jay’s health, but also for us, his fans. Now we get a weekly podcast of Jay and Kevin telling stories about addiction, sex, and craziest sets of circumstances imaginable. Last year, Jay and Kevin took their Jay and Silent Bob Get Old podcast across the pond to the UK and Ireland and already released the first DVD Jay & Silent Bob Get Old: Tea Bagging In The UK

In this video version, we fans of the audio podcast finally get to see the ever-animated Jason Mewes’ pantomime of some of these stories. Further, at the end of these live shows, they play some games with the audience. Sometimes it’s Let Us F*ck which of course involves miming oddly-named sex acts, and sometimes it’s instead Let Us Act, where Kevin and Jason and some guests–that this time include Katie Morgan (Zack and Miri Make a Porno)–who act out scenes from famous films.
Overall
If you’re already a big fan of Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, this is another worthwhile addition to your DVD collection. If you enjoy WTF moments regarding sex, drugs, or celebrity gang fights, this will likewise be up your (dark) alley. But if you don’t love lowbrow humor and constant profanity like a fat kid loves cake, this might not be your cake.
