It’s almost that time of year again, when Oz Comic Con tours Australia. ComicsOnline is proud to present the following press release.
Oz Comic-Con to command and conquer Perth and Adelaide with the help of William Shatner!
Oz Comic-Con PERTH: Saturday 9th March and Sunday 10th March 2013,
Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Oz Comic-Con ADELAIDE: Saturday 16th March and Sunday 17th March 2013, Adelaide Showgrounds.
On Saturday March 9 and Sunday March 10, the city of Perth will play host to the 2013 debut of Oz Comic-Con, with none-other than legendary actor and Captain of the Enterprise, William Shatner headlining the two-day event. Shatner, best known for his iconic role as Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek, will join an array of international and local guests for the two-day Oz Comic-Con Perth event, before trekking to Oz Comic-Con Adelaide the following weekend, March 16th and 17th 2013.
Oz Comic-Con, which made its inaugural debut in 2012 to record-breaking crowds in Adelaide and Melbourne, is a pop culture expo like no other in Australia. Drawing numbers as big as 35,000 in its first year – the 2013 tour, which will include a return visit to Melbourne next July, is set to have Australia’s underground subcultures, geeks, and pop culture enthusiasts travelling from far and wide to make the convention.
William Shatner will be joined by other much-loved guests in Perth and Adelaide; including Richard Dean Anderson (TV’s MacGyver) and Patricia Quinn (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) – alongside a growing list of international and local film, TV, animation, illustration and voice over stars.
“We are thrilled to add Perth to the Oz Comic-Con lineup and excited for what our second year will bring. We have a wonderful selection of guests and without a doubt, there will be something for everyone. We are still adding to the line up of visiting talent and trust me on this one, Aussie fans are in for some real treats!” said Carissa Avenhouse, of Oz Comic-Con organisers DCA Enterprises.
