Let’s face it – Holiday season is the time when family wants to meet and ridiculous amounts of food is to be had whilst you have been tragically parted away from your console and most likely a Double XP weekend. But despair no more, because holidays also mean the possibility of some new swag and for the average (well, a bit more than average) gamer, this is the stuff you want.
Razer Onza Tournament Edition Xbox Controller
The average Xbox controller has nothing on this. If you’re serious about gaming, then this controller with adjustable resistance analog sticks, programmable buttons and backlit buttons is for you. Not to mention that it feels great in the hands for hours of endless shooting.
Mag II Wireless Magneton Induction Controller for PS3 and PC
Compatible with all shooting games. World first gyroscopic gun controller that uses wireless technology. It has ‘on the fly’ calibration and full controller functionality with built in vibration and high precision. No sensor bar is needed. It’ll definitely pack a punch in your next FPS. (Warning: requires some getting used to but hours of endless entertainment makes it all worth it.)
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
More than $500 million in the first 24 hours of sale and 100 million users can’t be a coincidence. This record-breaking, entertainment smashing edition of the Call of Duty franchise has promised endless hours of gameplay with increased attention to detail to weapons, architecture and infrastructure makes it one of the best Call of Duty’s there are. Treyarch might have missed the mark with Black Ops, but Black Ops II definitely makes up for that oversight.
Angry Birds Star Wars
The highly successful mobile gaming franchise Angry Birds from Rovio Entertainment Ltd have done it again. This time in a galaxy far, far away. Angry Birds are notorious for providing you hours of entertainment as you try and destroy those stupid pigs and Angry Birds Star Wars is no different. Only this time it features lightsabers, Death Stars and Wookies – oh my! May the Force be with you.
Wii U
Wii is known to be THE console for a party. So why not whip one up on Christmas and enjoy a game or two with family and friends? This console often requires players to work together, which can be a saint for camaraderie and laughs on Christmas, or ultimately end the night with hair-pulling and tears. Your call.
