Oz Comic-Con: Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012,
The ultimate pop culture and fan expo – http://www.ozcomiccon.com/
In an exciting addition for Oz Comic-Con: event organisers DCA Enterprises have announced three actors from the blockbuster-hit movie, The Hunger Games, will be headed to Australia to appear at the Oz Comic-Con Melbourne event – taking place on Saturday June 30 and Sunday July 1, 2012.
Leading the Hunger Games line up is young-actress Willow Shields (Primrose Everdeen); ‘Prim’ is the younger sister of main character Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and the child originally chosen as the District 12 tribute in the 74th Hunger Games.
Shields will head to Oz alongside Hunger Games career tribute and Daytime Emmy-Award Nominee Leven Rambin (‘Glimmer’ from District One) – as well as male tribute from District 11, Dayo Okeniyi (‘Thresh’).
After the overwhelming success of Oz Comic-Con’s debut event in Adelaide, the Melbourne leg in June is set to be even bigger and better with the addition of The Hunger Games cast members.
Recently released and currently screening in cinemas, The Hunger Games Movie is based on the young-adult dystopian novel written by Suzanne Collins, first published in 2008. The Hunger Games are an annual televised event, where one boy and one girl are randomly selected by the Capitol and forced to fight one another to the death in a game of survival.
Over two days, Oz Comic-Con will feature other international and local film and TV stars; with legendary actor Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Star Trek: The Next Generation; Professor Charles Xavier, X-Men) and comic icon Stan Lee (original creator of Spiderman and other comic icons such as The Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Thor) heading the stellar lineup.
