Special Event: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Royal Wedding

This past weekend, The Hub put on a spectacular event in honor of what could be called “The Wedding Event Of The Year” (TM). Shining Armor and Princess Candance are getting married on the season finale of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which airs this Saturday at 1 pm eastern on The Hub. No expense was spared for the Wedding party in Los Angeles, which featured a menagery of guests who were excited about the royal event!

Celebrities such as Christian Jacobs of The Aquabats and Yo Gabba Gabba! fame, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons from Modern Family were present for the Pony-centric event. Presiding over the festivites was Brooke Burke-Charvet, who took time out of her busy Dancing With The Stars schedule to host the party, and even made sure to bring along the rest of her family to join in the fun.

Stephen Davis, President of Hasbro Studios,  joined in the celebrations sporting a My Little Pony t-shirt he had made himself that featured the entire cast of the show on it… and wasn’t hesitant at all to show off his handywork! Joining him was his daughter Candance, who was the inspiration for Princess Candance in the finale.

Food and drinks were plentiful as guests were able to take part in events such as a horseshoe toss (with little party favor prizes such has The Hub branded earphones!) and making their own bouquet of flowers. Anypony (not a spelling error) could dress up inside Rarity’s Closet and take a picture at the photobooth (which was in high demand). Best of all was the “Design Your Own Wedding Cake” activity (catered by The Butter End Cakery who are known for their amazing cake design skills… Let me tell you, you have not truly lived unless you seen a TARDIS crashed in the prehistoric era wedding cake my friends!). This amazing group allowed the guests to have their own mini-wedding cakes so that they could add whatever they wanted ontop so they’d be fit for royality!

In the center of the festivities was the ceremony that everypony (again, not a spelling error) came for… the amazingly epic, hour long My Little Pony season finale. Before the episode, Brooke Burke-Charvet held a popcorn toast in honor of Shining Armor and Princess Candance wishing them a long and happy marrage. We don’t wanna spoil too much of the episode here (that is being saved for our review of the episode on Friday), but lets just say things don’t end up going exactly as planned during the wedding and Twilight Sparkle ends up in a very dire predicament.

After the episode ended, Brooke brought Tara Strong (the voice of Twilight Sparkle in MLP:FiM as well as countless other cartoon voices) and Meghan McCarthy (Writer of the episode as well as most of the fan favorite episodes of the show such as “Lesson Zero” and “Dragonshy”) up to the front of the room to thank them for all their hard work on the show. Since this was a wedding party, Tara had all the younglings in the room prepare themselves as she threw the wedding bouquet she had made for them to catch!

Overall the event was a stunning success and very well done. Major props go out to The Hub for putting something so entertaining together for the screening and really made it the “Wedding Event Of The Year”!

Be sure to catch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic “Royal Wedding” on The Hub this Saturday at 1 pm Eastern!
