Breaking In continues its hotstreak of episodes with “Game of Jones”!
You know who is great? Jones. He always takes care of everyone in the office. I especially love it when he buys everyone lunch. He sure is nice. Wait… Jones isn’t real? Don’t tell the boss… Oz gets in a bit of trouble when Molly gets suspicious about the missing, but grateous, Mr. Jones, who is supposedly Contra Security’s International Sales Specialist. Oz enlists Cash’s aid to throw her off the trail, but Cash takes things a bit too far. Meanwhile, Cam attempts to subdue his crazy new boss, before she goes off on the entire office.
So, let’s talk about Cash (Alphonso McAuley) and Molly (Erin Richards). Their dynamic took a very interesting turn, as the previous episodes seemed to indicate that Cam might end up with Molly following Melanie’s departure. Cash and Molly end up bonding (with a little help from Indiana Jones), and it looks like we might have a new relationship in the works. I really enjoyed how McAuley and Richards were able to play off each other, and the fact that each of the characters really could learn from one another. Cash’s obsession with movies and all things geekdom has provided some of the best moments on the show, and the use of Indiana Jones in this episode definitely gave viewers something to enjoy.
Cam (Bret Harrison) and Veronica (Megan Mullally) got to spend some quality time together when Veronica attempts to bond with her staff. Her social awkwardness hits an all-time high, and Cam tries to get his crazy boss to take it down a few notches. Well, we all know whatever the boss says goes, and Veronica insists that Cam act as her informant and dish all of the office’s dirty little secrets. How long do you think it will take for this to backfire on Cam? Oh, not long at all…and its pretty much comedy gold when it all goes to hell.
On a side note, one thing that I feel was missing throughout the first few episodes of the season was the opening credits and theme that had been featured during the Season One. “Game of Jones” featured a brand new opening sequence, which puts the cast into a series of Matrix-esque shots. I loved having the music back, but I really hope that we get the original theme (with lyrics) in the future.
Breaking In continues to impress on a weekly basis. I was disappointed that this week didn’t even mention the now missing Odette Annable (who took off last week to go visit her friend HOUSE before his show ends on FOX), but the cast carries on, delivering another entertaining episode.
