Movie Review: Thor

FUCKING THOR! By Caleb Paullus

by C P

The God of Hammer-Throwing. Guardian of Asgard.

Let me start off by saying that its difficult to watch a movie for an hour and fourteen minutes when your blood is no longer rushing to your brain. Lucky for you, you don’t need a brain to enjoy this fantastic expansion of the Marvel Universe, Thor.

Don’t see this movie if you are going to try and compare it to just the recent Marvel films released (Iron Man, Iron Man II, The Incredible Hulk) you will be disappointed. However if you look at it comparing it to every Marvel film released in the last twenty years, then you will very satifyied. This falls in line as probably the fourth best Marvel film to date (including all the X-men movies, Spider-man films, horrible Daredevil and Elektra films). Why you ask? It has better acting than, way better costumes and visuals, not to mention it at least sticks to the original story somewhat without making CRAZY changes. Overall it’s just much better script writing.
This epic adventure takes us from the visually stunning Asgard to present day Earth where the Might Thor, finds himself banished from his homeland. Im not going to ruin any of the story and tell you why or how he got banished or how he plans on restoring his good name. Just know that the movie is fun to watch. Its full of badass, hammer swinging action with a little bit of romance sprinkled in so your girlfriend will want to watch it too. Actually, I’m pretty sure that if you don’t take her, she will see it without you because Chris Hemsworth is a pretty sexy convincing Thor, so don’t get your armor in a bunch like NOMAD did over the romance. 🙂

With a star studded castcast, Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek), Natalie Portman (Star Wars Episodes I-III, Black Swan, V for Vendetta) and Sir Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs, Beowulf); fantastic visuals and epic fight sequences this is the movie to start your summer off right.

GO SEE THOR (but sit in the back if you are embarassed about getting boners in the theater)
