The timeline from Avengers #5 gives real hints and clues for the years to come in the Avengers titles.

In Secret Avengers the next story arc will deal with Shang Chi and how the Shadow Council tries to resurrect Shang Chi’s father. Tom Brevoot said he would not be surprised if Shang Chi stayed around for awhile.

Over in New Avengers it was revealed that the nanny for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones’ baby will be … Squirrel Girl. She will have a hidden past and we will meet all the applicants for the job.Brian Michael Bendis swears this is not a Jump the Shark moment.

Over in Avengers Academy it was announced that Christos Gage was now exclusive with Marvel. Issue #6 will focus on Reptile. Issue #7 will be the return of Giantman. Issue #8 will kick off a 2-part story in which a tape of Tigra getting beaten by the Hood’s guys surfaces online and a sleazy company will behind it. This will lead to us seeing how the kids react to her after having seen it. There will also be a teen prom.

Arcade: Death Game will be a story about how Arcade gets his groove back. He decides to target the heroes in the Young Allies and Avengers Academy to build up his rep.

Widowmaker is a mini-series that was originally going to be a crossover between the Hawkeye & Mockingbird and Black Widow titles but because of all the stuff going on in those titles it has become it’s own event. The story will be about a new Ronin and will reveal the history of that character prior to Echo taking it on. The events in Widowmaker will launch into another project that McCann couldn’t discuss yet.

Secret Warriors Hickman confirmed the series will end in issue #27. The 25th issue will reveal all the backstories of Zodiac. A major event will take place in issue #21.

Hickman discussed S.H.I.E.L.D. and said the current story takes place in the 50’s and he appreciates all of the support the book has received.

In Captain America,“The Trial of Captain America” will have Bucky answering for his crimes as the Winter Soldier. He’ll turn himself in. Sinn the new Red Skull will be planning attacks. The March issue will serve as the 70th Anniversary of the character. It’ll be celebrated with a 100+ page issue. Bucky Barnes lasting popularity is a testament to the work Ed Brubaker did to give him staying power as Cap.

Astonishing Captain America will be a limited series featuring the work of Andy Diggle and Adi Granov.

Thor #615 will set up everything that will be happening for coming years.

Ironman #500 will feature Spiderman and Mandarin. This will give you a glimpse of the next big arc of Matt Faction’s run with the character. It will be a 100 page blockbuster issue.

War Machine will be the focus character of Ironman 2.0. Nick Spencer was introduced and he essentially said that the book will be exploring what the future of warfare is. Not just James Rhodes guns and armor but his brain. He felt that the book would do for War Machine what Invincible has done for Ironman.

Onslaught Unleashed was teased. They spoke about how he showed up in the 90’s and how he’s been trapped in the Negative Zone since then and apparently time has passed very very slowly and during that time he has planned his revenge.

Bendis said that the May issue of New Avengers would define what kind of hero Jessica Jones will be.

Bendis said that the movies definitely influence the books. Sighted Robert Downey Jr.’s performance as Tony Stark/Ironman is an example that hit hard with a lot of writers and artists.

Bendis said Norman Osborn will be back in the Osborn limited series but said the Sentry will remain dead. Osborn’s story will probably leak into other books.

When asked to differentiate the tone of the Avengers books, Bendis said that one team is made up of all the big action, famous heroes  and are officially sanctioned by Steve Rogers while the other team is one which will be more Avengers by choice of lifestyle like living in the mansion and always sticking together.

Taskmaster will be showing up in Avengers Academy #9.

A storyline is set to explore a mystery involving Mockingbird’s father.

New characters will be showing up after Red Hulk and some new female members will are in the works.
