SDCC 2010: Friday’s Adventures!

Friday at Comicon was, for me, slightly less eventful than Thursday, being unable to get into any panels that I wanted to. So I ended up spending the few hours I was there trying to cover the convention floor and finish scouring out who was going to be there and what booths I’d still like to come back later. It’s crazy that it took just over two days to see everything, but I still love every minute I’m there.

The most memorable event that happened on Friday would be meeting the cast from Travel Channel series, Ghost Adventures. Zack Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin were in the autograph alley to promote their show and to just be there for the fans. I grabbed a couple of photos while standing in line, but couldn’t pass up having my picture taken with them once I was up there.

Once I had finished waiting in line, I tried asking a few questions to see what their upcoming season would bring. I’m not sure if it’s because Zack was recovering from a hangover, or if he’s really just rude in person, but, after the introductions, when I asked if there was going to be a live show again this year, I got a simple and blunt, “Nope.” So there’s that, GA fans. No new live show, but there was a mention of a possible ‘special’ episode, though there were no details on that, and it won’t even be announced until sometime in September. The same time as the start of their new season!

I left that signing with a sour taste for Zack (though after half the pictures he’d taken before, I was a little surprised he managed a smile for my picture), and increased respect for Nick and Aaron, both of whom were exceedingly friendly and genuinely happy to meet the fans.

While traveling the convention floor, crammed and packed as it was, I happened to come across the WB booth where there’s always a good signing going on. What did I happen to be passing while weaving my way through the crowd? The cast and crew from Big Bang Theory! There was no way I was going to be able to get in line at this point, so I just tried to snap a few photos and follow security’s instructions to take a picture and ‘move along.’

After that, it was merely a photo-taking free-for-all.
