The saga of Majin Buu continues. Season 8 left us with Majin Buu, Mr. Satan and the puppy set up house with a slim chance that Majin Buu might change his ways. Of course as season 9 opens the hopes for a good Buu are dashed and the battle begins. Throughout season 9 the epic battle is waged and the existence of Earth hangs in the balance.

DVD Review: Two and a Half Men Season 5

The complete Fifth Season of Two and a Half Men is now available on DVD! Charlie, Alan, Jake and the gang are back for more wacky misadventures. Not only did this season feature the 100th episode of the series, but it also featured a crossover with the writing team from the television show CSI!

Highlights:
"Large Birds, Spiders and Mom" – Jake makes the big leap to Junior High and Alan and Charlie try to give him some advice on how to survive the experience. This advice leads Jake to panic and his experience is worse than he imagined.

"Dum Diddy Dum Diddy Doo"- Charlie is setup on a blind date with a woman named Linda (who also happens to be a judge). The two don't exactly hit it off right away as Charlie's behavior isn't exactly what she was expecting. Charlie has to fight to win her over.

Manga Review: Kazuo Umezu’s, Cat Eyed Boy

This year Cat Eyed Boy is nominated for an Eisner Award, and I thought we should revisit the classic Manga from 1967. Kazuo Umezu's classic Cat Eyed Boy is a wonderful look back in time to the early days of the Manga/Horror genre. By today's standards this 532 page compilation of stories would be considered naive and almost comical, but at the time it was pushing the boundaries of real gore and the world of the macabre.

DVD Review: Spectacular Spider-Man Volume 4

It has been far too long since The Spectacular Spider-Man has aired new episodes… I forgot how fun this series is. The series follows Peter Parker as the teenage-nerd-turned-genetically-enhanced-superhero Spider-Man as he fights crime and survives high school, and seems to draw influence from the Spider-Man movies and Ultimate Spider-Man comics, as well as the original comic story. The hip character designs really capture the essence of the characters and action sequences are really exciting thanks to the energetic animation. The show also features an excellent cast of voice actors, led by Josh Keaton as Peter Parker.

DVD Review: Case Closed, Season Five

“Where’s Mr. Blood and Guts?”

That’s a good question. Where is he? Well, just ask Conan Edogawa to close the case! In Case Closed, Conan is an alias for Jimmy Kudo, a 17 year old boy who was transformed into a 7 year old. He ends up at the home of a not so well known detective, Richard Moore, who is not very good at his job. Conan starts going with the detective to the crime scenes. While the lame detective acts like he figured it out right off the bat (usually stating it’s a suicide), Conan snoops around and figures out what really happened. Then, Conan will tranquilize the detective and use a voice simulator to reveal the truth through the detective. Eventually he creates the Junior Detective League with a couple of kids his age.

Game Review: Wallace and Gromit: The Last Resort

Wallace and Gromit are back for another episode of Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures from Telltale Games. Episode two, The Last Resort, retains the solid graphics of the first episode and utilizes many of the same characters in order to tell a mysterious tale of another venture gone wrong.

After plans for a day at the beach are scrapped due to inclement weather, Wallace constructs a beach resort in his flooded basement. The resort business turns out to be more complicated than expected, as Wallace deals with unsatisfied customers and Gromit is eventually forced to investigate suspicious behavior on the part of the guests. The story is fun, and transitions well between the four acts, with each chapter focusing on a different stage of the basement resort venture, with different objectives for the protagonists and the player. Ultimately, the story is a charming tale that offers up a lot of opportunities for puzzles.

DVD Review: Wolverine and the X-Men Vol. 1

When the world needs saving, they turn to…the Avengers. But when the Avengers aren't available they turn to…the Fantastic Four. But when the Fantastic Four are trapped somewhere in the Negative Zone they rely on…The X-Men! While they may not be the first team that gets called on when the world is threatened (because humanity really hates mutants), they are the ones you call when you need to stop evil mutants…because they are really good at that (well, that and blowing up giant mutant hunting robots). The X-Men make a triumphant return to the animated world in Volume 1 of Wolverine and the X-Men which is now available on DVD!
