Leonard, Sheldon, Penny, Howard, and Rajesh are back for The Second Season of The Big Bang Theory! The guys have a lot on their plate this season as their dating lives take an unexpected turn! What happens when Summer Glau makes an appearance in their lives? And how could Howard have broken the Mars Rover? Will Penny and Leonard finally find happiness? All these things will be covered during these hilarious (and addictive) 22 episodes!
Episode Highlights:
"The Bad Fish Paradigm"–
Penny and Leonard finally have a chance for romance but when Penny starts to feel intimidated by Leonard's intelligence, she begins to question her choices in life. Penny confides in Sheldon, who in turn freaks out about having to keep information from Leonard. He decides to move out and attempts to live with Howard and Rajesh, but is quickly returned home by the men after they realize that they can't handle Sheldon.
"The Barbarian Sublimation"–
Hey everyone! This episode shows that girls can play video games too! While locked out of her apartment, Penny once again vents to Sheldon about her life and how frustrated she has been with trying to find acting jobs and a lack of a sex-life. Sheldon invites her in to his apartment to wait for a locksmith, and Penny ends up getting hooked on a World of Warcraft-like game called Age of Conan. Things get even more interesting when she realizes that she has said yes to having an online date with Howard…
"The Griffin Equivalency"–
Raj is named one of the "30 Under 30 to Watch" by People Magazine! Now the man who couldn't talk to women suddenly has a new found confidence! Raj asks Penny to be his date to the Awards Dinner but things don't quite goes as Raj plans. Kunal Nayyar is at his best in this episode as the loveable Rajesh. It is great to see such well thought out development for the character who says the least on the show.
"The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis"–
It's Christmas time and Sheldon is thrown off by Penny's arrival with a gift. He then determines that he must engage in the ritual of buying gifts and asks for Howard and Raj's help to find Penny the best gift possible. This episode features the best moment of the season which involves Penny, Sheldon, and a Star Trek castmember. Check this one out!
"The Friendship Algorithm"–
In order to gain access to a Super Computer at the lab, Sheldon must first become friends with the one man who has control over its access: Dr. Kripke. Sheldon acctually seems to make some headway but decides that he can't maintain a friendship with more than 4 people at once, and one of his current friends will be getting the boot! Who will it be?
"The Monopolar Expedition"–
Sheldon is given an opportunity to travel to the North Pole to test his hypothesis about String Theory. What is even more surprising is that Sheldon wants Leonard, Raj and Howard to come with him as his team. The three debate over giving up months (and being stuck with Sheldon) versus a summer free OF Sheldon. Penny is upset to learn that the guys (or more specifically Leonard) will be leaving for the three months. She holds back on telling Leonard how she really feels and lets them leave on their adventure.

Overall:
I have to admit, this show is quite addictive. It is very easy to put a disc into your DVD player and watch the entire thing without realizing how much time has passed. The writing is extremely clever and witty. This show has something for everyone, whether or not you are a geek yourself. This season was a lot more consistent than the first season, and allowed for much more exploration of the characters and new hilarious situations to occur. Kaley Cuoco (Penny) seems much more comfortable with her fellow castmates. Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Johnny Galecki (Leonard), Simon Helberg (Howard), and Kunal Nayyar (Raj) are the perfect group of friends and it is not hard to believe that they are close friends. If you haven't been watching this show, we highly recommend adding it to your list.
