Matt Sernaker joined ComicsOnline in 2007 and has since been promoted to Editor-in-Chief.
Matt acts as the main point of contact for all account management and brand partnership needs across the organization. He has been responsible for promoting and protecting the company’s reputation, developing media and public relations strategies, giveaways & promotional opportunities, and managing daily media relations/media requests.
During his time with ComicsOnline, he has crafted lasting relationships with numerous studios, executives, and talent for promotional coverage of upcoming projects/releases in the entertainment industry. When Matt first started with ComicsOnline, the site was starting to build relationships with studios including Warner Bros. and Lionsgate. Thanks to his business development and networking skills, the site is now partnered with NBC Universal, Syfy, CW, Disney, Fox, ABC, AMC, Comedy Central, USA, and more.
Over the years, Matt has had the opportunity to interview many celebrities for the site, but his favorite moments have been interviews with the casts of Arrow, The Flash, Chuck, The Walking Dead, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Batman: The Animated Series, and Stargate, as well as moderating the SDCC panel for The Spectacular Spider-Man.
In 2009, Matt created the San Diego Comic-Concert event (now an annual show during the week of Comic-Con) as a way to incorporate geek music into the pop culture convention. As our senior meeting planner for our promotional events, he has experience crafting various programming, including musical performances, giveaways, and surprise celebrity appearances.
