Our San Diego Comic-Con Interviews with the cast and Producer of Supernatural are below, but first, THE ROAD SO FAR… from our Supernatural The Complete Ninth Season Blu-ray Review:
In the start of the season, immediately after the fall of the angels caused by Metatron (Curtis Armstrong – Revenge of the Nerds), Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki – Gilmore Girls) falls into a coma due to the effect the trials to close the gates of hell. Castiel (Misha Collins – GISHWHES) is unable to heal Sam because of his stolen grace. Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles – Smallville), desperate to save his brother, calls out to all angels to save Sam. Ezekiel (Tahmoh Penikett – Battlestar Galactica) responds to Dean’s calls and informs him that to heal both himself and Sam, he must possess him. With Dean’s consent, Ezekiel enters Sam’s body. Afterward, Sam, Dean, and Kevin (Osric Chau – The Akira Project), with Crowley (Mark Sheppard – Firefly) as their prisoner, race to find a way to restore Heaven and put the angels back, all while battling the Knight of Hell, Abbadon (Alaina Huffman – Stargate: Universe) who his trying to conquer hell.
Throughout the season, Sam and Dean Winchester deal with regular hunting cases with the help of old friends such as Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day – Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) and Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes – The Suite Life of Zack and Cody). Over time, Sam realizes that something isn’t right with himself, but Ezekiel convinces Dean to keep it a secret from his brother.
In the season finale for Supernatural The Complete Ninth Season, Sam and Castiel worry about the Mark’s influence on Dean, but eventually realize that he’s their best shot at taking down Metatron. Castiel and Gadreel try to infiltrate Heaven to destroy the angel tablet, cutting off Metatron’s power, but they are caught and thrown in the dungeon. Gadreel is forced to sacrifice himself as part of a spell to free Castiel. Meanwhile, Sam arrives too late to stop Metatron from stabbing his brother through the heart and Dean dies in his arms. Castiel manages to trick Metatron and take back Heaven, but chooses to spare his life and locks him in Heaven’s dungeon though is dying from his draining grace. Sam tries to summon Crowley to fix Dean, but instead Crowley appears in the bunker where Dean’s body has been placed and puts the First Blade back into his hands, reviving Dean as a demon.
