Blu-ray Review: Resident Evil Degeneration
Video games as movies have never done very well in both the eyes of the public or the fans of those games. At best they end up becoming bearable or merely plain “good” and at worst we get anything by Uwe Boll. The Resident Evil movie series so far has had its own share of ups and downs. Based around the game series of the same name, the RE movie series have been about an evil virus making corporation known as “Umbrella” and their plan to make all the world their bitch by turning people into zombies and weird monsters. A group of people find out and attempt to stop them by fighting all the evil monsters that have been unleashed upon the world. The RE movies so far have very very loosely followed the game series storyline with random cameos from game characters and have pretty much failed to win over the fans of the game or movie critics despite Milla Jovovich wearing less and less clothes in each one.
DVD Review: Pineapple Express
From the creators of Superbad and Knocked Up comes the new comedy Pineapple Express which is now available on DVD!
Story
The film tells the story of Stoner/Process Server Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) who delivers a subpoena to accused Drug Lord Ted Jones (Gary Cole). Denton catches Jones in the act of murdering someone and takes off from the scene, but in the process ditches a roach at the scene of the crime. Well, this was not any ordinary weed mind you, this was the incredibly rare strain called “Pineapple Express”. Jones is able to identify the roach and tracks down a man named Red (Danny McBride), who happens to be the only distributor of Express in town. Red gives in and reveals that he has only sold it to a burnt out named Saul Silver (James Franco). Dale has of course fled to Saul’s place to hide and is immediately found by Jones’ men (Craig Robinson and Kevin Corrigan) and hilarity ensues.
The Batman is Dead. Rest in Peace Bruce Wayne…
Today is a tragic day my friends. It is the day the Batman died. Not in a monumental way, but as a gimmick to sell books. He dies in a book where he is only scene for 5 pages total…5. The death of the Dark Knight should have been more massive. I don’t think its right that we have to sacrifice Bruce in order to have Barry Allen alive in the comics. Its not a fair trade. At all. RIP Bruce. You will be missed.
But my dad had this to say:
If Jason Todd is not dead, then Bruce Wayne IS NOT DEAD.
If Barry Allen is not dead, then Bruce Wayne IS NOT DEAD.
If the New Gods are not dead, then Bruce Wayne is NOT DEAD.
If Hal Jordan is not dead, then Bruce Wayne is NOT DEAD.
and if Superman is not dead, then Bruce Wayne IS. NOT. DEAD.
DVD Review: Saw V (Unrated Director’s Cut)
I watched the first three Saw films and enjoyed them fully. Now they weren’t the best movies ever, but they were an enjoyable, yet gruesome way to spend the 90 minutes or so that each one takes to watch. I naturally assumed that the films would end after Jigsaw died at the end of Saw III, but they continued on with Saw IV. I personally chose to skip Saw IV due to that fact. Last year they made their way to Saw V and it is out on DVD on Jan. 20th.
Blu-ray Review: Dexter: The First Season
Dexter has finally come to Blu-ray Disc and now is the perfect time. Showtime has aired three cable-length seasons of this razor-sharp yet frighteningly inviting series about Dexter Morgan, Miami PD forensic blood-spatter specialist by day and bloodletting vigilante by night, and they’ve finally teased us with DVD releases long enough and have finally put out the story arc that started it all in sharper-than-ever 1080p high definition Blu-ray with 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

Blu-ray Review: Ghost Town
Ricky Gervais from the original UK version of The Office finally settled down and stopped being annoying long enough to make a movie where he doesn’t act like a complete twat (to use Brit vernacular). While his character in Ghost Town, Dr. Bertram Pincus, DDS, is like his Office character David Brent in that he’s someone who starts out as someone you would never want to be around, unlike Brent, Pincus doesn’t have to hit bottom before he acts like a human.
DVD Roast: Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget: Uncensored
You know Comedy Central roasted Bob Saget, cause you saw the commercials interrupting while you were trying to watch The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and South Park.

Blu-ray Review: Eagle Eye
The world is a much stranger place than we give it credit for. We each live in our own personal bubble and sometimes don’t realize that things are out of our control. We place a lot of value on technology that makes our lives easier. It is easy to take that technology for granted. What happens when that technology is placed in the wrong hands? Welcome to Eagle Eye, the techno-thriller film from Director DJ Caruso. This new action film is now available on Blu-ray and DVD!
